Our second big news is that Lauren and I signed the lease on our new
apartment in the West 80’s. The rumor is that the rents are moving upward with
a quickness, so we might have caught the end of the price dip and locked in a
good rate for two years. Lauren and I are busily blocking out the moving
schedule in Google Sheets and arranging to have our new furnishings arrive just
ahead of our move date. We’re using the planning time to make sure that the
stress is off of our shoulders as much as possible.
Friday: Friday we went back out to the LeFrak center in Brooklyn for their
final weekend of ice skating. It was a bit of a cold dip (low-to-mid-thirties),
so it was a perfect final hurrah at our favorite rink. We day-boarded Byron,
took a train out, picked up a meatball sub at the bodega, and then skated the
1:00 to 2:30 session.
Another great thing that happened Friday morning is that because I woke up on
my usual work-day timetable, I managed to visit the New York State vaccination
site at the right time and found Lauren a slot for next Thursday at the Javits
Center here in Manhattan.
Lauren, in a tweet called it “…the Stabits center” much to my
Weekend: Our moving bins arrive tomorrow morning and we’ll begin the actual
packing process of our move. More details on that next week, I’m sure.
