Yes, and unless I could use someone else's knees I wouldn't want to do it anyway. I cheat with the elliptical trainer, but then I can do that while reading Harper's, which destroys all the inner development. (reminds me of an earlier steven post -- evidently I do not enjoy my own inner monologue.)

Swimming would work, though. There's something consciousness-altering about swimming.

You shouldn't run on your girlfriend's knees. That's just not good for anybody.

I"m kinda turned-off by running ( may be for my type ), but also because it's really hurt my girlfriend's knees!

I used to practice yoga every morning in an upper room. I vividly remember the yin/yang of (dammit, body! pretzel up in conformance with my will!) / (aaaah, feel the nothingness).

A friend had loaned me a beginning textbook, and I used to do about 20-30 minutes of asanas and breathing exercises

Interestingly, I read a book that contends that for types of different people, different types of exercise will bring about that stress-releasing feeling, and that my "type" responds best to intense physical exercise -- more like running or swimming.

Maybe I should try running every day for 40 days and see whether I experience any spiritual transformation.
